I dislike...

Very, very much!
For taking...

&

and of course my sister away from us. How dare they move over 1500 miles away!!

(and here they are pulling out of the drive way on their long trip to PA)

I don't care that Pennsylvania's bird is the ruffed grouse, their flower is the mountain laurel, or their tree is the hemlock all I know is my adorable nieces will be living in their state and Idaho (aka Tiffany and David) wants them back!!

watch out fellow drivers...

this brother of mine now has his license... and he thinks he is Ricky Bobby!

(and really when did he get so old/big, it seems like just yesterday he was playing t-ball)

On a side note... I am a blog stalker, this is true- chances are if you are checking out my blog I have already looked at yours, your sisters (all 5 of them) and your great grandpa's. Knowing that, I found this Chinese calender on a blog and am curious to know how accurate it is, so all you baby making mom's out there... let me know.
Yes, I am strategically planning the conception of our 1st born... ha ha!
* as of now I am thinking we will wait until I am 25 to begin "trying"
Have a great day everyone :)

Collin Raye...

What an amazing concert he put on up at BYU-I tonight. What is it about famous people in designer jeans and button up shirts that make me feel like a 12 year girl again? Ok, maybe it's the bald head and the fact he is over 40... either way I am lovin me a little of this guy. I would laugh then cry then laugh harder. Even better it was a date night with my mom, do you know how much I love my amazing mother? A LOT!!There is only certain people you can drive to Rexburg with and feel ok about going to Great Harvest for pumpkin bread, a donut shop, and last but not least the Cocoa Bean Cupcake Cafe all in less than 40 minutes ha my mom is definitely on that list of people. Then of course to Gringo's (my fav) for dinner before our 7:30 concert. What a fun night!!

Spirit week...

These are my "rockstar" nieces decked out for spirit week...

(presh, I know)

What else have we been up to?

-We celebrated Halloween a day early with dinner (Wingers) and a movie (Easy A), no dress up parties for us this year... too much time/money/energy put into last years event!

-Moved in with my Dad and little brother... it's been good! Lots of people ask if it's hard but honestly the basement we took over is bigger than our house was, and I get the entire huge kitchen all to myself. Plus no complaints on saving money!

-Currently wishing there was a check list to decide if a couple is ready for babies... I googled it with no luck :) Ideas, suggestions anyone?

-My new nitro is AMAZING!! Love it!!

-Ready for the snow to fly to try out my new 4WD

-Starting my Christmas list... although this year will be quite simple (we're broke) and rather depressing (divorced parents suck). Top of the list is an I-PAD :)

-Excited for 2011 and a fresh start on a pretty crappy year :)

Birthday parties...

It seems like someones birthday just passes and another is approaching, but I love the excuse to eat cake and ice cream. What's more fun then my own birthday? My adorable nieces having birthday parties and all the excitement that comes along with way too many fun gifts and of course the chance to catch up with the fam!

For Rozilyn and Brooklyn's 6th birthday we went to Heise and swam then went over for pizza, cake, and presents. We definitely got the Best Aunt/Uncle award for the pillow pets we bought for them... it's all they wanted and we called dibs :) I can not believe these little fire crackers are already 6, it feels like they were just born yesterday!

This picture was just a few days after their birthday it was National Walk to School Day so we rode our bikes :)

We celebrated Gaby's birthday a day early because I was leaving for Vegas on her birthday but didn't want to miss her party. She is growing up to be such a sweet and pretty girl! I am so lucky to be married into great in-laws and amazing nieces that I love so much!

This is a hard age to buy for... past the toy stage but not quite to teenage gifts yet... and the kid couldn't give us any ideas so she got money! Turns out we weren't the only one's without any leads, Gaby got a lot of money and hopefully she will find herself something fun!

On a side note (if you didn't know): I am going to be an aunt again!! David's sister Tricia and her hubs Cory are expecting!! Eek I can't even begin to explain how excited I am for a new baby in the family... preferably a nephew but we'll take what we get :)

What's new??

I went from this...
To this...

My new nitro which I love so much!!

It was hard to leave my little car at the dealership, we traded it in. When I bought my car brand new in '06 with 32 miles it was right before I started beauty school. There was lots of memories in that car from daily trips to Rexburg, late nights, early mornings, and lots of single life days. My car NEVER left me stranded in the cold... or hot for that matter, never blew a tire or had any side of the road experiences and most importantly wouldn't even let me lock the keys in her when I tried. It was a good car for me and to me, but I didn't expect to be getting married and maybe (one day eventually, not now) start a family and lets be honest... it was not a family car! David barely fit in it and definitely was not comfortable and liked to complain so he found me this great little nitro and we jumped on the deal. My only complaint is the head lights aren't automatic? Crazy for a new vehicle if you ask me!! And I haven't filled it with gas yet... but I am positive it's not going to get 35+ miles like my little car did! Other than those 2 small issues I am loving our new vehicle and am looking forward to taking trips... hopefully in the near future as I am in need of a vacation!!

Catch up...

This will be a catch-up post all minus pictures...

-we are completely moved and mostly settled, it was only a 2 mile move up the road but it might as well been across the planet it was so unorganized and rushed for my likings but good news is we made it. (the camera was still m.i.a along with a few other of my VERY important personal belongings) hence no pictures of the excitement!

-we went to the fair... and the Freestyle on Wednesday night, it was a lot of fun! I was afraid the entire time we were going to get rained out but only a few drops it was perfect! Speaking of the fair... what is it about that place that makes me eat a corn dog, fries, scone nuggets, and a fruit kabob and still long for (without giving into temptation because the concern on my hubby's face and our pocket book) corn on the cob, caramel apple, chicken bowl, baked potato and anything else I can get my hands on? Ridiculous! But secretly I hope Saturday is a nice day and hubs offers to take me back at least for lunch :)

-this summer we missed out on 2 of our all-time favorite things to do together...
#1. the drive in movies
#2 a baseball game
the summer flew by I swear I am wondering where it went as the air is starting to feel like fall but nothing beats fall smells, colors, and pumpkin treats :)

Shout out...

These are pretty much my favorite girls in the whole world. We were all the best of friends in high school and I love we can still get together after sometimes months of not even keeping in touch and pick up right where we left off! We are all so different in almost every way yet we get along amazing, I heart my quad posse :)

Swimming Lessons...

Rozilyn & Brooklyn had their first year of swimming lessons!! They love the water and are like little ducks :) After their first lesson Roz was very upset and didn't want to get out of the water because she "didn't know how to swim yet."

I finally got to go watch their 2nd to last class, they were so tired on the way there!

I am pretty sure this is their favorite part

And they graduated :) she was pretty hyper obviously

B was very excited too!

I can't believe they will be in Kindergarten this year, they have grown up so fast. It really feels like they were just born yesterday!

T.P.

Oh how I remember these days all too clearly!!

Someone, meaning one/some of my little brothers friend/enemies toilet papered my Dads house. My dad was out of town and obviously someone knew that and took advantage. My brother stayed at our house while he was gone and one night at about 1:00 A.M. (hence the dark pictures) we got a sudden urge for mozzarella sticks and knew there was some in my dads freezer. Being only a few miles away we headed over only to find the t.p.'ers had been there. I begged my brother to wait until the morning to clean it up, besides it was only a few short hours away and starting to rain! He insisted on starting a fire to burn it and picking it all up immediately so it didn't "look bad" to the neighbors and luckily he had 2 friends over to help :)
The Facts:
-there had to have been 3 cases of toilet paper Fred Meyer brand :)
-it must have been a girl because the toilet paper was tied and wrapped around things perfectly
-dad doesn't have many trees so they did the tractor, farm truck, trampoline, swing set, out door decor... etc...
-they left behind all the plastic wrappers
-Jeral was mad like mad, mad. I laughed the whole time and had to promised him I wouldn't post pictures on facebook
-most importantly we did get cheese sticks after the work was done!

2 years... and counting

We celebrated our 2 year anniversary this week-end, it was actually on Sunday but we chose to celebrate all weekend long! Starting with Friday...

David has been wanting to go here for a very long time, probably since it opened but I refused... until now! It was delicious and not too expensive like I heard it was. (our meals were $12 & $13)

David also had his heart set on seeing this movie... weird right? Ever since we first saw the pre-views he knew it was a must see... and it was :) I liked it. Good thing it was a special occasion, can we talk about the price of movies now days.

We had a fun enjoyable night together. I told David my favorite part was the corn bread, corn on the cob, and pop corn :)

I had to work Saturday... then we headed to Rexburg to Jeral's posse meet...

Spent the rest of the night there. Got home @ midnight and was up early to attend the Island Park Rodeo...

I was pretty excited about finding Play-Doh ice cream.. yum!

Dave was pretty excited about seeing his old car up there!

On the way home we stopped at Pond's Lodge for lunch and next to it was a small salon with this sign... how awesome!

Needless to say we had a great anniversary week-end! I sure do love my hubby, in ways it feels like we've been together for a long, long time and in other ways it feels like just yesterday we were married!!

Bored...

The phrase "I am bored" holds a very special place in my heart... let me explain. Lately, so many people (friends/family/customers) have said this very phrase to me and I look at them in aww. I remember coming home from school begging my parents to let me do something... anything... with my friends of course because I was bored; without thought my mom would have a list of at least 20 things that could occupy my time before it was time for dinner and bed. With that being said since the age of probably 10 I learned to NEVER say I was bored and to ALWAYS find something to do before mom could sense I might be bored. Now days I hear people say that "board" word and automatically think to myself 1. of things they could be doing to keep there body or minds busy or 2. what I would give to be bored!!

A friend put on their facebook status today..."what should I do on my day off?" Really, people sit at their computers and think about these things? At least 3 or 4 days in advance to my day off I have my entire day planned from paying bills, shopping, laundry, cleaning, dusting, re-organizing, cooking, cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning and hopefully time to sneak in lunch with a friend at that pre thought of time.

What I would give to wake up one morning (without the sound of my alarm) and think... hum what should I do today? Or sit on the couch for over 30 minutes (without a million things going through my head that need done) and say... I AM BORED!!

And we don't even have kids yet, what is wrong with me? David says to me at least once a week calm down, it's okay, you're fine your life is really not that busy/hectic- but it is :)

I want s'more...

After reminiscing all of our camping experiences these last few weekends I got a sudden urge for a s'more last night. I hope that's how you spell it because I definitely can't say it :) Anyway, a girl at work was telling me her family made them in the microwave one night so I tried... the mellow enlarged hugely after 10 seconds and didn't get the crispy outer cover, but I did get my s'more fix. And after how hot is was in our house yesterday the chocolate was even a bit soft. yum!

Summer Part 1

I can't believe summer is already half over... and the poor kids will be back in school in a month. I blame it on the crappy spring :) None the less, we have been having a fun time... mostly camping and spending our evenings outside doing anything exciting. David could clean his truck all night long and I love to water the lawn and say we spend time together!

A few snap shots up at the hills camping and this weekend... fixing fence, I walked with the boys this year and NEVER again, that's quite the hike!

My nieces did a summer bible camp this year that was a week long and at the end of the week they had a little performance and a big get together that included fun things like ices, cotton candy, jump houses, water slides, and a BBQ! They had a great time and I love watching them grow up, they definitely are adorable kids!

We had a work BBQ at a park on Sunday and that's always fun for all the girls to get together and chat... and gossip a bit :) Dave was nominated to help cook and made up some yummy burgers!

P.S. Dave pretty much broke his ankle (meaning he has a few hairline fractures, torn ligaments and probably tendons and a bone spur) the weekend we went camping over the 4th of July. Basically, I kept telling him to "man up" in my kind wife words of course, he went limping and hobbling around w/little to no complaining for 2 weeks before he stepped wrong again and demanded to go to the doctor for x-rays. Tough guy only missed a half day of work and still isn't 100%. Last year over the 4th he burnt the back of his leg on the 4-wheeler. Needless to say no more camping over the 4th of July for us!!

4th of July week-end...

What a fun and eventful weekend! There was so much controversy over the 4th of July being celebrated on the 3rd this year... local news 8 or post register didn't ask for my opinion (which I wonder why?) so I kept my thoughts to myself. I figure if you have as much money as Vandersloot and are forking it out to the community you could change national holiday's too. Either way I got to celebrate a long weekend and that I am not complaining about one bit. We were even closed on Sunday and got paid for it... doesn't get much better than that!

When our alarm clock went off at 5:00 a.m. Saturday morning. I wasn't too thrilled and especially after hearing the wind blow all night it didn't start off on a positive note. However, we made the best out of our morning getting the float ready while freezing. It turned into a decent day and I even some how managed to get a sun burn!

Sudz w/Lady Liberty and Uncle Sam

Sudz w/ the girl helpers :)
Sudz and the Dare Lion... too cool for school!
As soon as we made it through the parade, got unloaded, ate lunch, done a quick packing we were off to the "hills" where we would spend the evening riding four-wheelers, eating s'mores, talking around a camp fire, and weenie roasting. We went to a high peak at 10:00 and could see the majority of the fireworks being done around the greenbelt... so fun! This is the only picture I took it was me, David, Dad, and David's friend Enrique w/his wife Shasta and his lil bro Orlonzo... Alonzo.... Olonzo? ish :) David managed to sprain/brake/twist his ankle within the first hour we were up there simply stepping off the four wheeler... I am still hoping the swelling goes down and he can walk on it before next weekend so we don't have to cut into our savings account- that sounded harsh but it's true and I know he feels the same :)
Our adorable niece Elise turned 6 on the 4th of July so we were suppose to be home to her party by 1:00 but luckily when we showed up at 2:00 there was still lunch, cake and presents to be opened. Sometimes breakfast, chasing cows, and cleaning up takes longer than one expects.
We got her a pink Zhu Zhu pet and some jewelry... just what she wanted :)
I don't know where her cute faces come from but she is definitely a keeper!

(darion, Brooklyn, and Roz)
Then we (david and I) were back to my dads by 7:00 where we (dad, spike, me, dave, mel, the girls, darion, shayne, and amy) had pizza and lit off a few fireworks of our own even though the wind was blowing pretty hard and dad was afraid for his hay field across the street... no fires this year!
And finally Dave home relaxing with the girls, watching cartoons, resting his poor swollen purple ankle while I colored my sisters hair.
Then came Monday...

Girls Day...

@ the ZOO!!!
I have been wanting to go to the zoo for weeks now... and it has definitely been years since I've been. So on one of my days off last week that happened to be my sisters day off too, we decided to have a girls day and go to the zoo and lunch. Girls included: me, sis, Gaby, Elise, Roz, and Brook- what a fun day!!

Elise and Brooklyn watching Gaby feed the baby goat.

Rozilyn and Brooklyn

Gaby and Elise

and the somewhat creepy monkey who seemed to be a little more human then I like to think is possible!
