Book-worm...

I have become a book worm since I graduated high school :) It's so much easier and funnier to read when you aren't forced to do so by teachers and know there is going to be a quiz!! I also like to watch movies, so I decided it's a win-win situation. Read a book, watch a movie then decided which was better and compare. I know it sounds laid back, but trust me I need a little relaxation in my life!!

Last night I finished....

Last night I started....

And this is waiting in my drawer...

Lyrics...

My current favorite song that is very fitting in my life at the moment...

PRAY FOR YOU - JARON & THE LONG ROAD TO LOVE:

"I haven't been to church since I don't remember when
Things were going great til they fell apart again
So I listened to the preacher as he told me what to do
He said you can't go hatin' others who have done wrong to you
Sometimes we get angry but we must not condemn
Let the good Lord do his job, you just pray for them

I pray your brakes go out runnin' down a hill
I pray a flower pot falls from a window sill
And knocks you in the head like I'd like to
I pray your birthday comes and nobody calls
I pray you're flyin' high when your engine stalls
I pray all your dreams never come true
Just know wherever you are, honey, I pray for you

I'm really glad I found my way to church
Cause I'm already feelin' better and I thank God for the words
Yeah, I'm gonna take the high road and do what the preacher told me to do
You keep messin' up, and I'll keep prayin' for you

I pray your tire goes out at 110
I pray you pass out drunk with your best friend
And wake up with his and her tattoos

I pray your brakes go out runnin' down a hill
I pray a flower pot falls from a window sill
And knocks you in the head like I'd like to
I pray your birthday comes and nobody calls
I pray you're flyin' high when your engine stalls
I pray all your dreams never come true
Just know wherever you are, near or far
In your house or in your car
Wherever you are, honey, I pray for you
I pray for you"

P.S. I am not a mean person and if you've heard the real song you'll appreciate it a bit more- kinda funny!

Police...

Dear Ucon Police,
We (my hubby and I) hate you! :) We think you are stupid and need to find a job elsewhere :) We also don't feel like Ucon needs a police officer to enforce any laws our parents don't already make us abide by. We are good folks in Ucon, and if I want to ride my four wheeler up and down the streets all day long I feel like I have every right to do so without being rudely interrupted by your authority. What happen to the days when I could ride my go-cart to my friends house 3 miles away at the age of 6 (or 10) with only waves from my fellow neighbors? Or the days I used to see the bishop/mayor/dad/neighbor/principle at the gas station when I was buying a soda, driving my mom's car when I wasn't a day over 12... I miss those days Sir and anticipate the day you are fired for sleeping on the job.
Sincerely,
David and Tiffany Spackman

As a side note: David got a ticket for $52 for riding our four-wheeler in the barrow pit in Ucon freaking Idaho. Are you kidding me? The officer told him the mayor said he prefers that over vandalizing Ucon but still wrote him a ticket, and was a jerk! Said he thought at the age of 25 David would be more responsible, ha! David handled it well and will be working over time on his Saturday off to pay for his 'mistake' but really Sir Officer... you need another job... Iona sounds promising!

No cavities...

I left the dentist feeling like a million bucks this morning when they told me I didn't have any cavities and I wouldn't have to come back for another 6 months! Mind you, I am typically excited if I only have 4 cavities and get to do it in two office visits- I take care of my teeth I swear but I have what you call 'soft teeth' meaning I inherited bad teeth! Anyway, my excitement was shot down when I got in my car and my check engine light was on- the typical if it's not one thing it's another phrase crossed my mind because I was just thinking how much money we were going to save by not having an extra bill this go around. This engine light was strange to me because right before I went into the dentist I talked to my friend Sari and she said her check engine light was on and she didn't seem to concerned but with David being a mechanic I told her via text, "this is not something we take lightly." Ha ha, so I call David and told him my situation and he asked if I had got gas recently, I thought to myself it's not my gas light genius it's my ENGINE light, and I hadn't got gas lately so I just said no and he told me to run my car up there. In the meantime I called Sari and told her what he said and the whole gas story and she asked well what about gas because she had just got it... well I didn't know all I knew is I thought he was being unreasonable so I called him and he said sometimes if the gas lid isn't put on tight it will trip the check engine light. I thought for a split second to check my gas lid, and then I convinced myself not too because of course its on tight I always put it on until it clicks and I have not got gas for a long time so surely it would have come on before now. So I make the drive up to Rigby, he hooks my car up to a machine, tells me to remember a code, take the code and find it in a book and he looks at me and says... "did you check your gas cap?" I said, "no" with a smile :) then he said something about evaporation blah blah we walked out to my car he opened the place where you put gas in and sure enough it was off... and so was my check engine light :) Another lesson learned. He also said something about it expanding because of the warm weather so before you pay to take your car in when your check engine light comes on check your gas cap. Oh I am so thankful that's all it was!

I called Sari on my way home and told her the rest of the story and her gas cap was off too!! But her check engine light didn't go off, so hopefully all they have to do is reset it.

What a crazy morning!! Have a great day everyone.

The perfect day off...

That day would be today. I didn't wake up until 9:00 which is usual on my days off but this is a list of things that made this day off extraordinary! First off I woke up to this sweet note on the fridge... which was well needed after a not so friendly night before :)

I got ready for the day and had just enough time to eat breakfast before I went to get my hair colored when Dave called and needed a few tools he brought home this week-end and forgot to take back to work, so I ran the tools to him and he came out with a cinnamon roll and a soda for me because I was complaining about not having time to eat... why is it when I complain, he is so nice and then I feel guilty? Needless to say I was a few minutes late for my appointment and still made it there before the girl who does my hair. Lindsey is her name and she is about 2 weeks away from having a little girl, yes I know I cut that one close but she did a fabulous job (as usual) A good hair day is always a good day!!

I then intended to take myself to Sonic for lunch but decided a Limeade was all I really needed today and home it was to finish all my chores including:

  • laundry (everything washed, dried, folded, and put away)
  • dishes
  • vacuum
  • sweep and mop kitchen floor
  • water house plants (my house is like a green house, love it!)
  • dust the entire house
  • organize the fridge

And I still had time for an hour nap :) I also made dinner for tomorrow night so all I have to do when I get home is cook it in the oven- I also love that!!

And I still had time to make cookies...

I love productive days off!!

*As a side note, my poor hubby worked from 8-5 at his regular job, and now is doing security with his friend for the Michael Bolton concert tonight from 5:30-?. No wonder I accomplished so much but that poor guy is going to be dragging tomorrow!!
