O Christmas Tree...

This year's tree process was hard... I hate real tree's... hate them! But David insisted on us going and finding the perfect one in the wilderness and chopping it down to bring it home and decorate it- not my idea of a Christmas tree! However, he caught me at a weak moment and I said fine as long as you help (meaning do most of the work) we can have any kind of tree you want. But when I want something done, I want it done NOW not in a few hours hunting around in the mountains in the cold so we agreed on a real tree from the local department store :). This was a tough decision... we went to Lowe's, Wal-mart (who knew they didn't sell real trees?), finally to Fred Meyer and found the perfect one!! But then back to Lowe's to get the perfect stand :) Needless to say all our Christmas decorations and tree is up before the first of December so we can enjoy it all month long!

We re-decorated the thing about 5 times before it was "perfect" in both our opinions. Who knew I would marry a man as picky as myself... he still doesn't have the living room furniture "quite right" so I will probably come home tonight to a complete different look.

we were both losing our patience... so we opt to take a fun photo shot

This is Dave playing a Christmas Tree :)

The final product!

Sing Star...

We found a new game at our house- Sing Star! Love it :) So much fun and my parents enjoyed it just as much if not more than us! It's basically karoke but you have to get the words and pitch right. Turns out I am not tone deaf, my parents should have been some famous duo, and as for Jeral and Dave... they should stick to their day jobs!!

The big 3-0!!

My favorite sister turned 30 last week-end!! So we helped her celebrate at Garcia's and then for a night out on the town! We had so much fun- it's weird to have a 30 year old sister :) I kept remindering her life is now officially one-third of the way over and she can no longer say "word" :) Now all she needs is to find a nice, patient, caring, handsome, mature, man- any ideas?!?!

Love ya sis! Glad you let us party harty with you!!

Pumpkin treats...

I love cooking snacks and especially treats on cold days, there is some weird comfort feeling when the oven is going and it is cold outside. Could be the smell, might be it helps warm up the house. So this last week I have also been known as Betty Homemaker :)

Pumpkin muffins I got from my friend Val's blog- they are amazing!

My awesome pumpkin chocolate chip cookies I have altered the recipe to make them my own

And of course the famous sugar cookies are always a huge hit!
