Birthday Week-end...

David and I were both so ready for this week-end get-away and a mini-v.k. was much needed. I decided around Christmas that I would take a few days off work to spend our birthday's in Jackson w/David, I was afraid he was going with or without me! We left Friday afternoon and finally made it after a little adventure on the pass. We were sliding sideways down hill (we were suppose to be going up the hill) I was asleep in the back seat w/Jeral when I felt him jump, heard David suck a huge breath in, and opened my eyes in time to see my dad looking back at me as we were going off the road. Luckily, my dad is a good driver and straightened us out just in time then decided to put the truck in 4-wheel drive- good call! It was a beautiful day once we got to Jackson, we checked in to our motel and went to the hill to check it out. We walked through the vendors and Dave decided on Merry Piglet's for his birthday dinner!
Dad wanting to rock the pink hat to the hill!!
Saturday was my birthday and boy do I take advantage of it! I made everyone let me sleep in as long as I wanted and told David if he was going to wake me up it better be with a nice massage, this is my day to be spoiled and get whatever I want, whenever I want it dang it!! So we slept in a bit, ate continental breakfast weird it's my favorite and I would rather have it in the A.M. than any homemade pancake plus it's free... well pretty much! After we got ready we headed to Snow King were the hill climbs are, we brought our camping chairs which worked great in the snow and sat and enjoyed our day watching the sleds race up the mountain. I got brave and decided I wanted to take the chair lift all the way to the top... that is further up than it looks and I was mostly scared the whole ride and didn't look out, down, or behind us!! We got Pizza Hut for my birthday dinner and hit the candy shop for sour peach candy, an amazing $4 brownie, and Cookies 'n Cream fudge!! It was a great birthday!!
A view from the Chair lift...

We even saw Sasquatch on the Chairlift :)

Just before we were headed home... all 3 of us sun burnt!!!

Luke/Jason concert...

Yes, I know it's been a long time since I've blogged but with good reasoning: I wanted to make sure that everyone knew just how upset I was with our tax situation this year so I left it up plenty long :) Which still upsets me and I just know I am going to get a "Sorry we messed up and here's all the money you paid in plus some" letter because it's not right to take 30% of our checks and we still have to pay... there must have been a horrible mix up- still convinced of it.
On another note:
My mother-in-law, sis-in-law and I went to the Jason Aldean concert on Sunday and it was so much fun! Oh how I love concerts w/ my fam and amazingly hot country singers with amazing voices and cute butts :) Needless to say I liked Luke Brian (Bryan?) a lot, a lot! He is super fun and love his songs but he had the ugliest pants on... dang it, why did he do that to us? Tricia and I decided his pockets were too big and it made his butt look flat and like he had girl pants on- not attractive!! But skinny jeans, cowboy boots and a button down shirt- what's not to love?

Then there was Jason Aldean, which I have always adored, which almost makes me sound creepy!! I've always though he was a major case of eye candy, when he came out he was behind a curtain so all you could see was his body and cowboy hat and I knew this one may top Kenny Chesney, then the curtain dropped and out he came singing looking like no one other than: MY BROTHER IN LAW DANIEL!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was disappointed instantly, and kept thinking to myself it's Jason not Daniel, stare at him, he's famous, and hot- but nope that brother-in-law image never left. UGH! When I saw Daniel yesterday I even saw the resemblance... not that I think my brother-in-law is sexy or anything it's more like the way he dressed, and acted, and talked, and facial expressions. Minus, the small detail I really enjoyed the concert- thanks for taking me Patty and Tricia :)

David and I only have 3 more days of work then off to the Jackson Hill Climbs to celebrate our birthdays :) Looking forward to the time off work and enjoying the cold weather with my hubby (& dad & bro) :)

Tax time...

So Dave and I got our taxes done... this is always a time I look forward to, getting a little extra money for a much needed vacation or to pay off a bill... or two. All of the previous things we planned on doing with this years taxes... we just bought a mattress and figured we could pay off that with the 'extra,' we have a trip planned to go to the Hill Climbs the end of March for our birthdays. Luckily, we weren't relying on this money at all because turns out-
WE HAVE TO PAY INTO TAXES!!!
Are you kidding me? We both claim single and 0 all year then file together so we should be getting at least a little back seems how they are taking 30% out of both of our paychecks!! Then the man proceeds to tell us we don't qualify for the earned tax credit or another bonus because we made over $43,378.49 (okay I made that # up) and we don't have any children!! Are you kidding me... because we are an honest hard working couple trying to invest, save, and be prepared and responsible before rushing into parenthood we are getting penalized. His next advice- buy a house! Oh yes, because we can afford a house payment... Grr... to the government and Obama for changing the tax bracket- I hate you all in Washington each and everyone of you equally!! Have a great night.

annual Yellowstone trip...

Last Sunday Dad, Dave, me, Jeral, and his friend Grayson left for West Yellowstone after I got off work at 4, it was a long drive up there seems how the roads were slick since it had been snowing and froze! Good news is we made it safe even if it took us longer to get there than usual. We stayed Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday night coming home Wednesday. We rented sleds and had a lot of fun playing in the snow even though it wasn't that great of snow and Canadians over took the hot tubs and amazing Chicken noodle soup almost every night. I conveniently 'forgot' my snow clothes (meaning they don't fit anymore so I told a little white lie) so Dad rented me a one piece snow suit for $15 a day that was amazingly warm and so comfy unfortunately I forgot when we went to take the sleds back I would have to leave my snow suit there so I was wearing bright pink sweat pants and Dave's over sized hoodie with snow boots and didn't even have a coat to hide in!

Jeral getting ready to go out riding notice the awesome suit is my rented one and his mo-hawk it's tradition what can I say...

The boys getting ready to go out and play while I enjoyed reading and relaxing in the motel, they were so impatient I made them stop for a picture :)

Dad and Jeral wrestling around with shoes on the bed, that's a no-no!

David and Dad posing for a picture before they head out for the day.

He was excited to be back in the room spending time with me if you can't tell. Notice the big red bowl, yes that was filled w/our amazing chex mix also tradition...

Quick update...

Simply I am tired of seeing my Christmas page when I go "blog stalking" so I decided to update my page a bit :)
Do you ever feel like life is so busy and you never stop but when you finally slow down at night you wonder what you've actually accomplished the entire day? Welcome to the last 3 weeks of our lives... it seems like we never stop going and rushing places but we have no big duties or anything huge on our plate right now...
With the new year we are both really busy with work, Dave is picking up extra hours every chance he gets and also decided to work security on the week-ends (usually just Saturday but an occasional Friday nights too) for a little extra money. I am crazy busy at work and along with cutting far too many heads of hair a day I keep extra busy with paperwork and scheduling I never seem to be caught up and that for me is frustrating. Why we work so hard to make extra money instead of calming down and spending more time together I am not quite sure.... maybe that's something we can work on! I do enjoy "my time" while Dave works nights, not gonna lie! While he gets to be alone on the nights I work late it's great for me to be alone and get laundry done and house cleaning when I don't feel guilty that I should be spending time with him.
Awesome! That's our life in a nut shell right now.

Stay tuned... something more exciting is bound to happen in our lives before long!!

Christmas day...

Our Christmas started off at 4:45 when Roz and B just couldn't sleep another minute! They were so excited Santa found them at Grandma and Grandpa's house... about half way through they were tired of opening presents and of course got spoiled rotten!! After presents we ate breakfast and a nap was needed...

B with the play-doh set we got for her...

Roz also got a play-doh set...

We finally got David's parents a "spackman" sign like ours that we intended on getting them over a year ago... we hope it was worth the wait!!!
Then we headed to Grandma Hill's to spend time with Dave's family, open more gifts and eat again, I can not even explain how very lucky I am to have the in-laws I do I love them ALL like my own family and spending time with them is always nice. It just seems like so many people dread this time of year because they have to see the in-laws... I am definitely lucky!!
After Grandma Hill's we went up to my Grandma's in Rexburg where we spent the remainder of the day until it was time to come home relax and watch a movie. Movie of choice... the hangover... not the best Christmas movie but hey we aren't traditional- so funny!!
This was Brooklyn by the end of the night... beat! 5 years old still sucking her thumb... can you say hot sauce??
And this is Roz at the same time B is out... playing with her play-doh monkey with wild hair and tongue out...
we love our families!!

Christmas festivities...

This was a great Christmas!! And yes I am a little slow at posting, going backwards....

Dave bought me 2 amazing books that I am so excited to read, a right hand ring hence the box, an amazing scarf and some new perfume!!

I bought him some new shoes, gel, axe, and a new case for his new laptop!

Christmas Eve we went to his parents house to open gifts and visit then to my parents to open p.j.'s, have dinner and go Christmas light looking... this has always been tradition and we love it!!

Our new jammies...
dad, mom, and Spike (notice the bandana and hat, what a kid)
Mel and the girls!!
